dont try just up n buyin one brand new. my comp had a shit load of viruses n spyware n for sum reason it wouldntr burn cds just like urs is doin. then i got it allll fixed up n restored it to brand new n it was magic it worked great after that lol

But if he says his burner isn't recognizing the blank media, then I highly doubt that it's a virus or anything. Now, if he had burn failures then that's a different story.
