Patrick2121
What's up everyone! I'm new to the group and although I've had systems in my vehicles over the years, I'm in the process of building the most powerful system I'll ever own to date... I'm installing a high output alternator and I already have an optima yellowtop, my system will have a 1600 watt mono, my 4 channel will be wired to 4 ohms at 230x4, then a small A/B 2 channel 100x2 on tweeters. My high output alternator is 270A. Will I need a second battery or should I be ok??
Joe X
Your alternator capacity seems to me fine for the job, if you mainly play with your car on you should have no problems, if you spend a lot of time playing with your car off then you could probably consider a second battery. I guess the best way to determine if you should upgrade is use your system for a few weeks and see if your battery is holding up well and then decide what to do from there.
Patrick2121
Thanks for the reply... No I don't play my system when car is off. Now I'm trying to decide on a box....🤔
