Swapping Sa12 for DC level 4

Would it be worth switching from my current 2 SA 12's(classic) to 2 DC level 4's? My box is a ported foxbox which is gross 3.5cu ft tuned to 33hz. My current amp is a Sundown sia2500D. Not sure my box is quite big enough for what the Sa's like and restricted on space due to it being in a Ram crew cab which the seat was already raised. Would I gain overall sound/loudness by switching to offset the cost? It seems the DCs like the smaller box than the Sa. Any help would be appreciated.

To work on those subs you would need a port area of 50-60 square inches, do you have such port area? It is not obvious from the pics.

Thanks for replying.  The port area I believe is about 52.5 sq inches.....3.5 wide by 15in but if you measure to the end of the box it is 21in but the bottom is cut out (see pics) so I didn't include that part.20230223_161520.thumb.jpg.4d06cd520d843ef50a98d9a03d101165.jpg20230223_161434.thumb.jpg.236c57427c5e6e36be8a486aba6d2309.jpg

Ok, say you change those for L4s and setup a 4K amp, your port area be rather low with more power and some output will be lost there, Your upgrade will be audible but not substantial, say maybe about 3dB,  If you will be happy with any gain you could try it but it will cost a lot to gain a little. In my opinion it's doable but not worth it.

Thanks Joe, this is the info I was looking for.

What if I closed off the open part of the port and made it 3.5x21 for a total of 73.5? Would this be enough or would it mess with the box frequency and still not be the output desired vs cost?

Many times a system is poorly setup or have bad electrical and people blame performance on the subs, amps, etc.
