Bills Posted May 24, 2008 Author Report Posted May 24, 2008 ok, so i bought another and it looks like with the size of box i'm doing, i can't tune it under 40 HZ. and it is right at 40. maybe 41. is this going to be much of a problem or should i just do a slot port. i really want to do one like steve has in his Hoe except it won't be an interchangable one. help. lol Bills KwB Team DC Audio Midwest captain
Derrick824 Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 How big is your box? What is it that's restricting you to 40hz? 6.5ft w/ four 4" aeros 17" long = 32hz tuning. That's what I would build.
Bills Posted May 24, 2008 Author Report Posted May 24, 2008 well, the three areo's i had were used in my old box and i though i could use them again so i kept them and then bought that 4th one. the three were cut to 10.5" for my last box. and i would buy three more and start over buy the place here that sells them charge an arm and a leg for everything. i really don't like going there. so i was just hoping to start over my ports and go with a slot port and tune it in the low 30's. my box is 38.5x20x18 outside dimensions with 3/8" MDF. so i have right around 6.5ft3 inthere. i'm doing resin 45's and some bracing on the inside. my subs are firing up and the port is firing tward my hatch.
