ultra caps bank? second battery or none?

Recommended Posts

Hi there. Im not new to car audio, have build some systems before but now im stepping up regarding power (i know 3k is not that much but im coming from 1.7k) and i have a question/doubt.
Not competing but i kind of want to have a nice system if you know what i mean...
The system that im putting toggether:
Mosconi 4 channel 400 rms speakers amp
Hertz 2 channel 100 rms speakers amp
Nakamichi 3000 rms sub amp
Stock alternator 200a
95a normal battery (will go a bit bigger 105/110a when this one dies)
i want stable +13v if possible my question is, second battery? Supercaps bank?
Since im building a new system o would like to do everything right but i dont want to spent 350 euros on a super cap bank if a second 100 euros battery would be more than good if you get what i mean...
extra info: cant upgrade alt, i will do big 3 and possible dual leads for bass amp all 0 gauge (speaker amps will be 4 gauge single leads)

That amp likely delivers half it's rated power, just build the system and test if there are sings of stress like dropping voltage, if so then consider upgrades.

For now I would do a big 3 upgrade and have your electrical thoroughly checked so that you know it's working right, only if in that check the battery or the alternator were found not performing well I would consider upgrades before installing your audio equipment.
