Battery Voltage

I left my car last week for five days and before I drove it I checked the voltage and it said 11.99 volts with the car off. After I drove it for twenty or so minutes today I checked the volts and it was at 12.45 volts. Normally my voltage sits at 12.6 volts with the car off. I have a 250 amp alternator and a kinetik 1800 in the back. My question is do I need a battery isolator and if I do what size should it be. Thanks

You only need an isolator if you are playing your audio with the car off. Keeps your main battery from draining. Pretty much a waste.

Resting voltage:

That kinetic should be resting at 13v at least. You need to charge your system for a day or two. If your resting voltage just keeps falling you may have some bad cells from low charging. You need to get the batteries up to 13v and see how long they hold, this needs to be checked hours later so you don't get a surface charge reading.

Yes. Perhaps just move the Kinetik under the hood. It will be good for about 1350W from the front.
