eews Posted July 1, 2024 Report Posted July 1, 2024 I want to build something that will do quality hair tricks out of a trunk. Going to be choosing between Sundown zv.6s or any of the Nightshade series. The decision on which subwoofer I choose will really come down to what has the best deal or whatever is necessary. My main question is how low should I tune? Should I build the box oversized, and if so how much? How much port area should I aim for if I go with Areo port? The cabin area of my sedan if the trunk is sealed will be about 105 cubic feet. And finally how much of a difference will subwoofer choice make if I'm choosing between the zv.6 and NS series? I see people make crazy windy builds with the nsv.6s but they're almost double the price of the zv.6s. Quote
Joe X Posted July 1, 2024 Report Posted July 1, 2024 Air tight vehicle, seats fold down subs / port firing forward, trunk sealed off, Amp RMS well above of subs RMS on brutal electrical, TUNE LOW, ported boxes lose hairtrick abilities just below tuning, no compromise on subs, maximum Xmax and cone area as possible, trying to save money can hurt you bad on that goal so if you do make sure you know you can. Contact people with systems that have delivered what you are looking for and do not ignore any of their advise. Quote
