Kyblack76 Posted November 15, 2024 Report Posted November 15, 2024 There is a reason no one makes a multi alt bracket for a honda mate. 2.4 or 3.5, dont matter. Get a nice, NOT max alt, but something like a working 270 HAIRPIN style,... or , specify to the maker, you'd like a lower turn on if possible, (rpms) and add reserve. Done. ehrennavesken Posted February 14, 2025 Report Posted February 14, 2025 I custom made one for my 2014 Crosstour, running matching 250amp HO alternators. A big issue is the placement of the factory alternator, tucked sort of under the intake between the block and washer fluid reservoir. At least on the 3.5's like I have. Main problem is belt alignment, you would need to do a weird pulley system or "snout spacers" kinda like a supercharger, if you wanted to mount a 2nd alt in the same orientation. UNLESS you mirror the 2nd alt so the pulleys are facing opposite directions but even then there is very little space there and getting it lined up is insane. I have adequate fab skills for not precision stuff on my cars and off road rig but to get that damn bracket right and lined up and functional, and NOT be an ugly hunk of metal took me 5 or 6 months and 4 different versions and I'm still not happy with it but it works and has been fully operational for exactly 5 months tomorrow (02/15). Worst yet, I got a killer deal on 2 lithium starting/deep cycle car batteries which completely negates any need for the 2nd alternator XD I would be more than fine with a single 300-400 amp alternator, 120AH of lithium bank, and my 1000 farad XS superBANK. And I'm running 3 certified and Dyno tested amplifiers combining for 4900 watts RMS
