you know a turn on pop is one thing and clipping is another, for clipping set your gain at 0 on the amp and see what it does.

Also make sure you are wired to no less than one ohm, your subs should be D2 ohms.

I have my sub woofers wired at 1 ohm and when I have my gain at 0 it don’t clip but as I turn it up when it gets to a certain point it clips but when it does clip I have the gain at maybe a quarter the way up or even less but if I take my main rcas and plug them straight into my sub amp I am able to turn the gain up a little more than usual but not as much as the gain can go or I would like it to go thank you for responding!

I have 4 skar sdr 12 inch subwoofers wired at 1 ohm and a 3k watt surge amplifier as I turn up the gain to try to make my subs louder I can’t turn it past a certain point. That certain point it maybe around a quarter of a turn or less and anymore past that the amp starts to clip I have upgraded my alternator also. If I do turn the gain up it decently makes the subs louder but when I have it set where it doesn’t clip it’s as loud as my old 2k watt amp. I’m kinda new to car audio and I’m clueless on what todo next to fix this issue. Thanks!

Well it's obvious that you need to go through a proper gain settings procedure but also is important to know the specifications of your sub enclosure (volume, port area, tuning) and for you to mention what vehicle is it, what alternator you have, what battery you have, what wiring gauge you have used and if you have done the big 3.

Could be a number of problems so it's better to understand your whole system first.

I have found out that the reason my amp is clipping is because of voltage drop I have upgraded my alternator and did the big 3 what should be my nexts steps on helping voltage dropping I have a 3k amp thanks!

To monitor continuously how your voltage is dropping one install voltage gauge, connected to the amp terminals, if at any time you drop below 12V while the car is on that means your alternator upgrade was unsuccessful, also a battery upgrade is necessary to be able to play when the car is off.

Edit: you amplifier has a voltage gauge integrated which you can read on the bass knob so you don't hve to buy nothing, just use it as said above.
