Linking/ syncing two 2002 RF Power 1000bd

I currently have a 2002 RF Power 1000bd, rated 500x1@4 ohms and 1000x1@2 ohms. It’s near mint condition, other than the sticker on the back. Works perfect, I’m going to be looking at another this coming Saturday. I’m wanting to run them together on occasion for a setup I have, is it possible to control 2 of these amps with 1 of the punch bass knobs, without the 8 way RF splitter. I plan on buying a bdsync2 cable and a y splitter for rca’s, can you use the pass thru to send signal to the second amp if they’re linked? I read the manual and it said use a minimum 8 awg wire connecting both negative terminals on the speakers, flip the 180° switch on amp you connect speaker + to 0°, for other amp + that you connect speaker - to, switch it to 180° “out of phase”. Am I going about this correctly?

sounds about right based on what little info is out there on the web. if you have the manual i would say just follow the instructions to the dot and you should be fine. kind of rare to find those amps anymore, so just make sure to take special care that its all hooked up correctly before you put any fuses in and power them up (cant exactly run down to the store and grab another one lol)

Ended up getting another one in about the same shape, and found a grey center link that matches. I have them linked at 2 ohms, unfortunately 1 knob plugged into 1 amp didn’t work, 1 knob with a splitter to each knob worked perfect. Ended up switching over to an inline RCA knob with a volt meter since these amps and knobs don’t have clip lights, pretty easy to detect the more minute distortion you can’t hear. They barely get warm playing hard for about an hour when I drive to work, so I don’t think I’ll have any problems. The board I have them mounted on weighs 30 pounds all said and done, I’d like to get some plastic to redo it and make it lighter and a bit smaller.
