MDdrolman Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 Hello everyone, I am getting two FI xv4 12s. They are 1500 watts RMS and I can get either dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohm. I currently have 2 Hifonics brutus elite 1700.1 monoblock. It was on the amp test tuesday. It is supposed to be 1700 watts @ 1ohm. It hit 1800 on dynamic burst, but seemed like it was around 1450 watts @ 1 ohm certified. The second amp can be a slave to the first amp. Should I have one amp for each sub which I can buy dual 2 ohm and wire each one separately to 1 ohm. OR: is there any benefit to selling these 2 amps and get one good 3000 watt amp and get 2 1ohm dvc voice coils wired in series, speakers wired in parallel which would be 1 ohm. So 1 sub for each amp, or 2 subs on 1 big amp. subs will be in a 3.5 cube ported enclosure tuned to 31hz. I know 3.5 cube is kind of the minimum for these subs, but I already have a nice enclosure built. Toyota camry 1/0 gauge OFC big 3/4 250 amp alternator Thanks for your thoughts. EricM9104 Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 Sell the hifonics and get one good efficient amp, easier to manage, and you don't have to worry about matching each amps settings. Quote 2015 Honda Civic LX 4dr | 110k miles | Stock 1996 GMC Yukon SLT 4dr 4wd | 260k miles | JVC Head-unit
MDdrolman Posted June 3 Author Report Posted June 3 Thank you for the suggestion, any good amp recommendations? I will do more research on it, but a recommendation never hurts. Quote
