Alpine SWR-10d2 box recommendations.

Hello, I am new here but I have a basic understanding of audio, and am hoping to get some reccomendations on a ported boxes for my current setup.

 

I currently have:

(2) 10"alpine type r (swr-10d2) 2ohm DVC. 

-currently wired to 1 ohm.

(1) Hifonics Brutus BRX2000.1D

(1) Audio control LC2I

(1) unknow capacitor...

(1) unknown dimension prefab ported box

 

This is in my old car and am looking to roll it over into my new car. Currently running 4awg (i believe OFC).

 

I see the reccomend specs from Alpine, stating box volume should be 0.83-1.38 cu. ft. But am unsure wether I should go on the larger side or smaller? And what port tuning would i should go for? 

 

I listen to alot of EDM and rap. I feel currently my box doesn't hit the low frequencies as I would like, and want to know from the more experienced, what box would suit me better. I would be willing to buy a prefab box that suits, but not opposed to building one either. Also any recommendations for just an overall better setup? Possibly getting rid of the cap and using a extra battery...

A lot of folks gonna bash me for saying this but for what you are running just get a prefab box tuned 32..
I would suggest not mounting the amp to it because of possible box flex from a prefab..
Now I do have all my amps mounted on my 4th order box but it's three layers thick all the way around lol

I appreciate the info. Any recommendations on wether to got for more or less box volume, based on sub specs?

It would be best to go with the specs the subs...

Box spec that should enhance bass output should be about 2.4 cubic feet NET with 36 square inches of port area tuned to 32-33Hz.

 

BUT you should be aware of what specs your current box has to decide if it needs to be replaced or not.

 

Sometimes an improperly set subsonic filter on the amp or other settings can kill your low end, if you are using a LOC you need to find a source that is full range, some stock head unit outputs are hi passed. So you need to go through all of that too.
