kyleax1 Posted December 31, 2025 Report Posted December 31, 2025 (edited) I got 2 new 1 ohm subs. Meant to wire into 1 ohm in series, but put jumper wire from ground to positive on same coil. Subs were smoking within minutes. All coils still ohm out stable around 1ohm, I dont see burn marks but the coils are coated black from factory, no noise or weird behavior when I press down on the cones. They both still stink 16 hours later. Do both need to be reconed or since there is no mechanic noise and they ohm out they should be fine? Edited December 31, 2025 by kyleax1 Quote
crispy_chick3n Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 if im understanding correctly it would be like you left one coil unhooked from the amp so you were blasting the remaining coil with all the power. as long as they ohm out fine and they dont make any funny noises you are probably fine. just hook it up the right way and let it rip. 1 Quote This page is crispy_chick3n approved. © crispy_chick3n inc
