Eddy722
I have the amp sitting next to me and I see a knob on it for Level from 9V to 0.2V. What should I set that level to? Set it to what preout voltage the head unit has which is 2.2V.
dmanson
if you don't a H/U with a lot of preamp voltage on it you might find yourself setting that lil knob to about 1/2 way up. i have the hifonics bx 1500d and it has the same knob and mine is set almost at 9v which is at the minimum but i have an audiocontrol 3.1 and it puts out plenty of preamps voltage. 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative. str86diesel
Before you start installing your amp...read this post over at CA. It will tell you how to adjust the gain (the knob that you are talking about) properly. In the first post, the urls that take you over to jl's site is a pretty good tutorial. http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63933 2k6 Dodge Ram 2500...CUMMINS POWERED - SOLD
