SKID18 Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 So I have the dreaded dimming lights problem now....I bought a cheap, wack ass Diehard battery from Sears, and I think I may need to upgrade....That leaves me in a rut between, Doing the Big 3 or installing a dry-cell battery as a replacement....What should I do? I'm running an 800rms PA amp with 12L506 Kicker Solo. I see slight dimming when I turn bass halfway up and volume on 40. Should I let back on gains? I really don't wanna do Big 3 cuz it's kinda a pain in the arse. Replacing my front with a dry-cell sounds so much easier! 1 Kicker VSL512 Power Acoustik 800rms mono class D Pioneer Premier DEH3900MP Complete Kicker Amp Kit (4G) Pioneer TS-G1341R 5-1/4" 2-way Door Speakers[/font]
mrrairai Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 One of the reasons you dim is because of the high resistance of stock wires. So even if you did add a dry cell most likely you'll still be dimming. You need to do the big three and lower the resistance. Bigger cross section of wire equals lower resistance so gone get to it and upgrade the Big 3.
