also another thing good about brad nails is some (or most) actually have glue on them that melts when u nail the wood. so once the nail is in its glued in and can hold the wood firmly just like a screw but its much faster.

Ill take screws over brad nails ANY given day. Screws actually pull the wood together and leave no seals but the brad nailer just holds the wood in place. That is why when you get to building box's for bigger set-ups people dont use brad nails.

I use both. Since I dont have access to a table saw I have to build all my boxes with a circular saw, so if I have any imperfect cuts I use the screws to pull the wood together better. Brad nails do pull the wood together, but not nearly as tight as screws. If you are using a table saw, and make perfect cuts everytime then a brad nail, and glue is all you need, like Meade said.

im in your boat far as circular saw..and i dont like bugging the homedepot guy cause they always seem like there in a rush..

i got my circular saw for $25 last year and it works like a champ along with my brand new $10 jigsaw ........... all from the pawn shop. man i tell you, you'll find some good tools brand new or hardly used there.
