One of my dad's friends made one by bundling 10 packages worth of aluminum sparklers together with electrical tape, then a layer of fiberglass. He put it in and old out house and it easily sent pieces flying over 50 feet. Very stupid, but fun to watch. and he used an extra long fuse. But what I do which is cheap and fun. Is get a half-gallon milk jug. Cut it in half. Get a tin can poke a hole in the top. Fill the jug with about 1-2in of water. Put a firecracker in the hole.
