i just ordered my 12" BTL's yesterday and was wondering what would be the best way to have them facing in my truck. the last box i had with my L7's had the subs facing into the cab with ports in the front as well.

but i was wondering if it would sound any different/better if i had the subs facing into the bed of the truck with the port facing inside the cab..?

any suggestions will help though, thanks

yeah i guess that is what im referring to....but i dont know which would sound better. and yeah the rear seats are staying in the cab, but i drive with the back seats down when nobody is in the car. (not now because the box is gone so its just open to the bed, but when i have subs there)

I did some experimenting with my avalanche. The best I found was subs and port facing into the cabin sealed off from the back(bed). The biggest difference was when I sealed it off from the bed. Are you going to be doing all the work yourself?

yeah im doin it by myself, unless i find somebody who doesnt charge an arm and a leg to do it for me or with me.

I say seal it off from the bed. Here is my second attempt at a midgate replacment. If your like me I had a problem finding alot of avalanche builds bigger than 2 10s under the seat. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=22068

yeah thats basicly exactly what my box looked like for my L7's....it just had 2 seperate ports.

but that kind of work is WAYY beyond my skill level, im a master at wiring...but box building i dont mess with yet....i just ordered a premade box from online for my old subs, i didnt build one.

if i just bought a box from online for 2 12" round subs would that work just as good?

If your talking about one from caraudiofactory.com I'd say no because its a little small for those subs and if my math is right after displacement of subs your looking around 1cuft per chamber and tuning around in the low 50s.

this is the box i had for my L7's http://caraudiofactory.com/20012007chevy-a...poly-p-270.html

so you would recommend building a custom box?

if i gotta do that i might just go all out on my avalanche and have somebody do some crazy shit to it because i have no know how/experience on buildint fiberglass boxes...and wouldnt have the patience for it. then ill just put the BTL's in my t-bird...but even then i would probably have to build a box...but it would be easier because i wouldnt need to fiberglass anything.

i dont know yet....but the box you made for yours is nice as hell. i would want somethin like that for my truck...but i know nobody around here who would want to do it for me.
