hotshot27 Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 I am sorry to say i am soon going to be taking a break from car audio. Getting ready to head off to college and i can't have a car there my first year, and parking is too tough to bring my car at all. So instead of packing/storing it all for 4 years [maybe 8-9 if i go to med school], i am going to just sell it. A local audio place offered me $220 for: Autotek 900.2 10/10 mech 8/10 cosm 820ish at 2 ohms bridged [yes its stable and could be burped at 1 ohms] 2 12" cvr's 10/10 all around. exactly a year old. well taken care of I think this was not enough so i didn't take the offer. I was hoping to get 100-120 from the subs [all original packaging and manuals] and 160-200 for the amp. Is this an unreasonable asking price? I would include my box for $75, it's a carbon fiber box 4.5 cubes tuned to 31 hz. well over 2 weeks worth of work and its super strong. Should i take the 220 and cut my losses or wait out for a better deal. I haven't advertised yet, just trying to get an idea. I could sell it on here, but i feel i would get a better price from a local person on there first audio setup. I also have an old alpine 4 channel that does great for me that i would like to get 40 out of, great little amp. Any input is appreciated, sorry for the long post Current Setup: Factory HU with LOC mids/highs-Insignia components Sub- E8 in bass tube Amp- sae-1200d Show Setup: HU-Sony MEX-1HD (brings massive respect for sony) fronts - Infinity Kappa perfect comps rears- Infinity Kappa coax mid/high amp - Autotek 5600 Subs - 2 RE SE 15's Sub Amps - 2xSAE-1200D Box - 5cubes sealed Wire- Lots of Knu 1/0 SECOND SKIN

Any input is appreciated, sorry for the long post IMO you could get more for it, try selling it at craigslist.com. just be aware of shipping out the items, make sure you have the cash (no checks, if paypal make sure that it shows up on your account) before shipping out anything. if you get a check and you have even the slightest idea that its fake it prolly is. 1992 cavalier build 1992 blazer s10 kenwood cd hifonics hfi2500d 6 soon to be 12 12" hifonics hfi12d4's shit ton-o-wire Blurred Vision Audio Team SMD feedback/refs. clicky!-

Shinju Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 Thanks, i'll watch out for fake checks and money, i have one of those money marking pens. Anyone else have a take on this price? When Selling stuff VIA CL or Any Online Forums (Mostly Online Forums) its alwasy best to personalize photos you take of your gear, For example, Post a shot up of your amp with a Hand made signiture on a piece of paper and set it next to your amp. If you are in no hurry to sell just take your time and sell your stuff for a price you can live with. Hold out for offers and dont jump on the first one you get. As far as craigslist is concered I would only deal with locals on this one mostly to avoid shipping. I personally hate shipping stuff like this with UPS and Fed EX tossing shit around and breaking it.
hotshot27 Posted July 1, 2008 Author Report Posted July 1, 2008 yeah I wasn't looking to sell it on here, but i was just trying to see what people thought a first time car audio person would pay for it. I also have a prefab sealed box they came with and I could charge 300 for the subs, amp, and box? If someone here wants any of this stuff let me know, I can get all the pics you want [the only decent thing IMHO is the amps]. But i'm just trying to not rip off someone but at the same time protect my investment.
