Okay so I was planning on getting 2 Kicker L7 15's, but I ran into a lil financial situation, so im only going to be able to get one, until I have the money to get the other, so to get the most out of my one sub for now, what should i go with, i already know im gonna get the Dual 4 ohm VC's , and i dont know if i want a ported box, or a sealed, or how big of an amp to run on it just temporarily till i get my other L7. So what do any of you recommend to get the most out of 1 15, sealed or ported and how much power should i throw to it

I would do a ported box and put at least a thousand watts to the sub. It is going to work in anything from 3.5-6 cubes ported for a single 15 and double the size for 2 with 2000 watts for the pair. Is this going into a trunk, suv, or hatch? Because size may come to be an issue if you are doing a ported box for 2 15's down the road. I think that you could fit a single 15 in a ported box in just about any car, but two may be pushing it unless you have a decent amount of space to sacrafice.

There going in a 4 Runner and i got hotshotz to build me a box design for 2 15's that will fit perfectly, but i wont have both 15's for a good while so im just gonna be running 1 so space shouldn't be an issue, but ya think 1 15 ported with about 1500 watts would sound decent?

Sho nuff. I'd be willing to be that with 1 15 and 1500 watts in the 4 Runner you would be able to see 145's no problem, and with 2 15's and 3000 watts 150's might not be out of the question either. Go for it, and make sure to keep updated with pics too.

Hey, if you wanna save a couple $$ I'd look into AQ amps. 2200D for $389 shipped, and it will have roughly the same output as the rockford for half the price.

Just something to consider.
