Forevrbumpn Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Mojo isnt a SPL sub per say, the Quad coil Mojo is, its got the coil designed for SPL, and the extra packed on spiders for a higher FS The standard Mojo DVC 2ohm or now I think also DVC4ohm have less spiders, a lower Fs all the way around Ive ran many Mojos, and installed many, I seen them things put out some serious lows, and fast transient response Now the XXX newer series, I dont have much experience with, but i do remember them things suposed to be rated highly in the SQ area but SPL, overall DBs, the Mojos hands down I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
JAY-P Posted July 28, 2008 Author Report Posted July 28, 2008 excursion isnt as important as u think if you play a 20hz tone.... id bet ud beat almost anyone in excursion.... o yeah and ~2500w to do it lol 18s personally sound great and are not lacking in upper bass nor are they inaccurate... put that in the car audio myth file 18's are the most efficient.... and if you have the choice and money isnt an issue... duh 15's Thanks alot for your help. My install guy here in NY doesn't know about RE audio. He's a JL audio guy and he wanted me to go with 4 JL 10w7's, 4 EV 10's for mids, 4 6's and 6 beyma bullets. I think that I'll either go with 4 XXX 15's or 18's! I still don't see how people think that the Mojos would hang with the XXX series when the Mojos are 1000 watts rms and the XXX are 2000 watts rms!

I still don't see how people think that the Mojos would hang with the XXX series when the Mojos are 1000 watts rms and the XXX are 2000 watts rms! wattage along with excursion doesnt always count also that 1000rms is way underrated, there are people running 4000rms on them mojos. I knew of a guy running the Mojo MAX 15s just 2 of them, and had 4- 4kws per subwoofer, thats what, 32krms? It was hitting mid 60s, walled off, tons of batts, and they were the Mojo Max, but again they were rated only 4krms 8kmax and this guy ran them for about a year before changing the system out If you ever take a good look at a Mjos coil, and compare it to just about any other coil, you will be suprised. They say 2000watts rms 4000watts max.Lets just say that Memphis under rates its shit..alot..I am lucky,the shop I work for carries Memphis and up until not long ago had RE/Us amps..so I got to play with both
