glpg80
the f3 point is measured like 3dB@40hz for bass notes. it means that at a 40Hz will actually be playing 3dB lower. with vented boxes you also have rolloff included which the f3 point doesnt mention. -matt Quote ah, you mean the peas? It puts it into perspective. Just imagine a stadium filled to the top with peas. Sounds like one hell of a soup lol

I assume you had a gp3000d on each sub. We must have very good coils and cooling as the coil looks in very good condition. The glue joint didn't fail either, you overdrove /unloaded the sub one too many times and ripped the spiders into. The HDC series is almost impossible to bottom out, you will rip the spiders into before you do that. There are two layers of spiders in the HDC3 suspension package with each upper and lower layer having 4 spiders for a total of 8 spiders. You have to do some serious over excursion to rip them. You are correct in that I don't warranty ripped spiders or burnt voice coils and I don't know of anyone else that does either. For guys that compete and push well past the design limits of the equipment I offer drop-in recone kits for all our subs at very reasonable prices, under $60 for the HDC315.
