bangin_explorer
IMO, stay at rms or a tad over.. never run peak unless you know what your doing. things can go wrong at that point. nothing wrong with rms, just make sure you have a very good box design and there will be no need for over rms or a little bit over.. just my .02 on rms/peak. Guest
if you really want to, use this site to help make a box. http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html make it in between "Ported box: 1.8-2.5 cuft @ 28-33Hz"
MickyMcD
Peak power= massively inflated garbage. You can trust Peak Power to be the rating it takes as pieces of the driver are flying around (in most cases.) I know a lot of DB Drag competitors put psychopathic amounts of power to their drivers, with good reason. One thousand watts is a lot of power man, don't doubt it. A nice effecient box will see that thousand watts go a long way. If you need any help, just shoot. Split9112
so does that mean you want more rms watts? so if it says 2000 watt max and 1000 rms the rms is wat matters the most? y jw. lol i am still kinda new at this i learn more and more everyday lol Quote Live Fast Die Fun!!!! MickyMcD
To be completely and technically correct, you shouldn't run off either. RMS is Root Mean Squared, and is a mathematical calculation. Continuous power is what you are looking for, or the power that the particular driver can constantly take without damage. But, in today’s marketing, RMS and continuous power is the same thing. So yes, a high continuous power woofer is your friend for hi-power applications. trulywickedcustoms
wat about amps? do you look for peak or rms too i may be wrong but i always go by RMS b/c in normal stuations your amp will hardly ever get to the peak power that it say it has ...."agn i said in normal situations / with normal power and etc..." im sure there are a few guys who can burp the shit out of their amps and get up in some numbers but they got countless hours of time/work and money into them......
