What kind of applications are you planning on using this for? Quality sound I hope is not what you are looking for if you are going for a USB card.... do you not have a PCI or PCI-e slot available?

this is for my crapass laptop whos driver will not install.... I have the driver but when I try to install I get the blue screen of death. So just something I can plug some speakers into so I can listen to all the videos on here and not have to pretend or addlib the sound

USB sound cards are pretty nice for Sound Quality, I have a USB Sound Card Headset on my head as we speak! its a Beta unit that Microsoft is making it also has a Mic on the left side for gaming or Skype or any app that uses VOIP.

USB Sound is designed for PC's that dont have alot of extra PCI Bus slots, And PCI-E is for Video Cards that replaced AGP.

Plus USB has a pretty fast transfer rate with USB 2.0 slots
