capitalgq27 Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 I am building my sub box for 4 10"s and I donot have much room to work with......my ports are 8 inches long and the only place I can place them are on top the box....however, if I install all the way inside the box they will be to close to the woofer.. so I was going to install the only about 3 inches into the box and let the other 5 inches stick out the box....will this affect the tuning freq. or even work????I am using pvc pipe" round" for my ports....
andym85 Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 it should work...and it will affect the tuning frequency a tad (the ports wont be displacing that much air inside the box, therefore your tuning will go down a tad), but i wouldnt worry about it...you can always cut some off of the port to raise your tuning back up if it affects it that much... i likes me some audio stuff...
