Btrash Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 4/2=22^2=4 4*3.14=12.56 12.56*2=25.12sqin which supposedly is equivalent to 50sqin slot or square ported becuase of the decrease in port velocity due to the flared flanges 13.71" with flare for 2 4" aeros for 3cuft external port Shouldn't you use 2*pi*R for circumference and not pi*r^2 which gives area? The answer in this case is the same anyway since 2^2 = 2*2 (It is port surface area and not port volume correct?) Quote

Decaf Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Shouldn't you use 2*pi*R for circumference and not pi*r^2 which gives area? The answer in this case is the same anyway since 2^2 = 2*2 (It is port surface area and not port volume correct?) its not volume... i only multiplied two things pi * radius squared... i would then have to multiply by height for 3 dimensions or volume i learned it as circumference is pi*d area pi*r^2 volume pi*r^2*h thats the calc i used... at psp-inc.com Quote
01 S-10 Posted August 20, 2008 Author Report Posted August 20, 2008 http://www.psp-inc.com/They have a port calculator on their website in case you ever need it. I tried it with 3 and it says over 21 inches to get 38hz Quote TDH FTW !!!
Decaf Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 I tried it with 3 and it says over 21 inches to get 38hz yes... the more surface area the longer i said 13.17 for 2 4" so 3 4" will need to be longer and 1 4" will be shorter... ya dig Quote
01 S-10 Posted August 20, 2008 Author Report Posted August 20, 2008 Thanks for all your help guys I think I'm gonna try 2 of them and see how it sounds Quote TDH FTW !!!
Decaf Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 the lower u tune the better off u are with less port surface area imo Quote
