Detached Spider :(

i wanted to figure out why the left mid-bass driver was making a rattling noise at medium-high excursion. turns out half the spider detached (vid). at first, i thought the coil was blown but its in perfect shape, no blackening at all

question is, how do i fix it. (recommend some brands that will work well).

and yes, i was watching Frasier on the TV

just get some gasket maker and put on there. its tacky and flexable just use it spaingly

get a decent two part apoxy. most general stores will carry em in the hardware section. about 3 bucks. it's in a push tube. get the stuff that takes about 5 minutes to set. gives you some play time with it. they have stuff that'll set in 30 minutes too if you'd rather get that. i've done it twice, and i might have to do it LOTS more here soon lol

update: turns out both speakers have partially detached spiders, god dammit.

5 minute epoxy will work? cause its like $3-4, perfect price.

i only clicked the first link, but that's about exactly what i used. and yeah that's the price i paid too. $3.xx. that'll do the trick. very strong stuff. the stuff i used said it can handle 2000 pounds i'm pretty sure

EDIT: clicked the other 2 links...yeah super glue wont work, not strong enough. dno what the other stuff is, but the first link is what you want. make sure do get a small thin mixing stick and give it a good mix before you apply it

no, it works the way resin does. got the 'resin', and then you got the hardener. they're in separate tubes. you gotta cut the tip off to each tube, then the handle is attached and pushes the stuff out evenly at the same time. then you mix it and spread on. it's not really that hard to do. it's thick so it'll stay on whatever you put it on to apply it. i had a small dowel i used that was split, so the tip was thin.

my dad's hopefully getting epoxy for me right now since he's at the store. he asked me what kind of material spiders were made of, i said Cloth...
