benz280se
don't forget safety!!!! i wasn't thinkin when i was lowering my toy and took the bolt outta the middle clamp and pow!! the meaning of SPRING became very clear as it pinned my hand to the gound. luckily it caught the meat of my thumb off-center of the spring cause otherwise it woulda broke my hand. the guys that sold me the lowering blocks didn't tell me to prop the spring i don't hurt myself! infkt
my jeep was sagging so i bought air shocks because my box and sub was sagging it even more than the shitty leafs, now it doesn't even sag. there about 60 bucks at autozone and they install just like normal shocks. Bills
New shackles will be the easiest way. in the front or back? cause if this new install makes it lower too much i'm going to put leafspring helpers in back and that will give it a 3inch lift and so i wanna do like 2 inches in the front then so it don't look like my ass is in the air. lol Bills Quote KwB Team DC Audio Midwest captain
Andrew2944r
When I dropped my truck 4-6 after my box and everything it was about 8 inch drop, I added 1 leaf to each spring in the rear and a set of Gabriel Adjustable Air Shocks, and made the ride of the truck way better as a result... jcro_61
If its 4x4 id leave the front alone. You put the shackles in the rear. its how the leaf springs attach to the frame in the rear portion of the spring. You can get some for 1.5 lift. will run about 50 bucks. imo easier to swap than adding leaves etc. Also in stock setup you cant use blocks to raise the rear. the axle is over the leaf, blocks only lower. To raise with blocks the axle would have to be swapped to under the leaf. Also you could just the front torsion bars down to level it out, that would be free and only requires turning bolts. wL<3bass
Weird my box weighs around 150lbs.....subs another 50 or so....amps another 50 or so and batteries another 50...then about 30lbs or more in 1/0..... So over 300+ pounds and mine only sags maybe .5 to 1".....maybe you need new shocks or springs altogether?
