ihave a crossfire vr2000 the bass signal is processed through aucontrol overdrive. i did notice that buzz after hitting a certain gain input. if i ignored the buzz the amp would shut off or simply go into proyect until i lowered the gain. i use the dd1 to tune it. but if i set the overdrive witht the dd1 to handle anything more than constant 2v the amp will buzz even though the signal is clean. the radio is a jvc with time correction etc etc. the outputs on the head unit are supposedly four volts

thanks for the review i will scale down some of the sounds like the bells and try to cut back on using too much samples. it's hard to get a feel for what it really sounds like in the barracks since i can't turn up the system too loud.

i broke one of the fuses when i pulled it out to check and that was one i had laying around, i didnt feel like running to the store to buy the correct fuse when i was just testing to see if sound came in and out.

Description/Condition: used/broken. i purchased this amp sometime in march and didn't have it installed until may. i got about three or four weeks of listening and then one day no sound. it lights up but nothing comes out. i was told by a local repair shop that something on the input board has gone out. it didnt burn, didnt go into protect, just stopped working. since i have lost the receipt i cant return it, and i dont feel like getting it repaired because i have now bought more stuff. i'm sure that this amp will make someone happy when it's fixed. the plastic on the bottom is the shrink wrap that comes with the amp to protect the plexiglass, it got wrinkled but i never took it off. 4. partial to kicker stuff, 1500 2500. or crossfire vr2000 etc...but will still look at other offers in the 2k power range @2ohm throw out some offers! was gonna trade someone for a kicker 1500.1 but he had just traded with someone locally for something else.if someone is gun-shy about trading we can maybe work an ebay transaction or something like that.. last bump before i take it off the market lol

yes this amp is a beast. i really do like this amp but after buiding the box for my trunk i need a slightly smaller amp, and i dont want subsonic filter. all my amp before this except for my memphis big belle in my other vehicle didn't have them and i can tell the difference in my bass. this amp does slam hard though even though i had it on only 100a alt @ 13-14v with two batts one of witch was kinetik hc2000 and two fissd 12's. and db-r does repairs on all kinds of amps, since ma audio i think is not in business anymore. oh this amp is not rated for 1ohm it has to be modded and you better have a good electrical if you do that!

just to clear up some questions people might have. i am trying to trade this amp for a smaller or thinner 2k+ amp that does power @ 2ohms it can even be one that does close to the total power of this thing or higher i'll even trade up with money from my end. but this amp isn't just long it's very wide so i think i might go a different route with my install. and i dont like having a subsonic filter the lows are low but there is a difference that i can tell and i want to eliminate that difference. i have never blown any of my woofers over the years because of over-excursion and i am 40 i don't see me magically doing that now. but feel free to throw out some offers!! for example the old school crossfire is almost as long but not nearly as wide, orsay for example the stetsom 2k6 or 2k5 is the perfect size the hifonics 2k amp would be fine if it werent 1ohm. is a picture starting to form? but feel free to throw out some offers if you want this, i might jus bite.

i had the 1k6, i liked it but after listening to it for about two weeks i ended up selling and went with the 2k6d. it will do it's rated power, i haven't measeured it but plenty of people from different forums have and they all say they put out the numbers they say they do. as far as music is concerned it handled all the music i played very nicely; and i listen to everything fromsade to atmosphere to slipknot and tool. just set the crossover right and it will perform to your desired taste. i just wanted more power thats the only reason i switched.

i used to swear by jl and rf but after hearing fi ssd's i wont buy any other kind of woofer...ever. i have already bought three sets for different cars, and turned friends on to them. they are definately woth the every penny.

i dont see why not, i guess it depends on what u wanna run? i have knu concepts $1.75 0ga everywhere i could put it; with 100a alt hc2000 and big 1000cca starter bat usamps400 (12-1400watts), us amps md42, two fissd12's and absolutely no dimming. i even ran the ma audio hk4000d driven to about 1800-2000 on this setup with very little volt drop lights didn't blink at all.
