Graph1cz Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 The amp cuts into protect when it gets to a certain level (no clue why i checked the voltage and its 14 volts and only drops to 13) hes only running a 75.2 jbl amp on 2 old pioneer subs and to be honest its pretty good. I was thinking it could be the ground?? He said the ground was shitty when the guy installed it but i have no clue what it could be. Im still a novice at this kind of stuff (i install etc) but i have no idea why it could be cutting into protect. any tips?
Graph1cz Posted August 27, 2008 Author Report Posted August 27, 2008 impedance maybe?ground as stated? I recall taking out one of the subwoofers because it wasnt playing (loose wire) and it said 4 ohms on the back and it had the weird terminals nothing like my kickers. And it said 4 ohms and i believe both subs are wired in series?? I have no clue with those weird terminals

Guest Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 subs shorting out? probably means that the + and - speaker wire touched or something. check the ground, make sure its on a full metal bar or something, and all the paint is ground off under it and a little bit around. you can have the subs wired to 2 ohms or 8 ohms, unless its a dual 4, then i think its 1 ohm and 4 ohms.

Its most likely the ground, if not i guess ill check the independence
