dunkoholic Posted May 9, 2010 Author Report Share Posted May 9, 2010 Quick question, i am eager to try out my system today.. only problem is my Zero gauge wire for my amp won't come in till tuesday.. i do have some thinner cable.... if i hook up a thin cable to my amp to battery and amp to ground will i mess up my amp? will i mess something up? spl4life Posted May 10, 2010 Report Share Posted May 10, 2010 how "thin" is "thinner" if its 10 ga... dont do it... either why... you will have some really bad voltage drop...and if its too thin the wire will get hot... amp may go into protect due to the voltage drop... if you wire to 4ohm and be VERY conservative with the gains... then no... you wont mess up your amp... BUT.... i still dont recommend running anything smaller then 4ga to that amp... if i was in your shoes... id wait for the proper wiring......and do it right the first time... My first truck... I used to bump this same song on my Type R's/Fostgate at Vol 62 Here's a quick vid with the new RE's/Sundown at Vol 52.. it skipped the shit out of my Cd so i had to turn the volume down so it will play.. amp only a little over a quarter for now till i break in the subs.. what do you guys think? all i can say is, it's louder than my previous set up... oh and sorry about the mess there, i'm in the process of making a box for an 8" sub on my arm rest...
