So, to dig up a build log, Gotten anything new done on this truck?

I have a 1992 C1500 with the 5.7L and a 96 C1500 with the 5.7L, Im currently DDing the 96 and going to do my install on it. This has a bunch of good stuff and a high attention to detail. :good: Now for me to stockpile some equipment...

WoW thats pretty cool you would look up my build log. LOL It had to have been barried.

I haven't gotten anything done in a while. I'm trying to figure out a little issue I have.

I want my midbass, midrange, and tweeter all in the kick panel and I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to do that exactly but I am willing to say that I'll need to cut 2 6 inch holes in the floor for my component set and do my best to aim them at my ears. If that works then I'll be trying to put a set of midbasses exactly in the kick panel itself.

If you look in the kick panel you will see a rectangle hole on each side of the truck were I cut the sounddamping out and for the longest time I have wanted to use that area as a built in enclosure type situation. Unfortunetly I think the midbasses I have, have to big of a motor structure to work. So I might need to find a different driver to use.

I want my music to keep up with the amount of bass I'm going to have and I want to stay away from installing anything in the doors and as you know theres not much room down in the kicks but I would really like to make it work.

Once I work out how I'm going to do that the rest of the install should be fairly easy. I have the 4 L7 10"s worked out. I have the amp configuration worked out. I just need to figure out the mid tweet and midbass issue and I'm good to go.

Besides that I have been fairly burnt out on the stereo stuff and the lack of money at the moment to contribute to my project hasn't helped my ambition and lastly you can just call me plain lazy. The nice thing is that I got the bulk of the warm weather work done so besides the kick panel area I can do everything else in the cold.

Thanks for checking out my build Cody.

If your going to re-use the dash I have a set of mounting rings to go in the stock speaker locations made for a set of 4" midrange speakers that I'm no longer using, and if you want them you can have them at cost of shipping.

The components in there are Fusions but I have a new little project for them if I ever get around to it unless I just wind up buying something to fit in the 4"x6" area thats not coaxials.

Thanks for the offer Cody, but I need to fabricate everything myself unless I lack the tools/equipment or skills for a speciffic material.

This truck is for me and me alone. I have picked many different manufactures to use because of many different reasons and attributes that their products bring to my install.

If I have my feet back on the ground by 2011 and I can look at competeing and Kicker brings out the amps I have been waitting on since 2002 then you will see a full Kicker oriented competition vehicle from me.

Now thats a pretty big goal from me if you only new the hurddles I need to jump through to make that possible.

Lets just say that I have been toying with the idea of selling off all my stereo equipment for the last few months but I'll wait till things get worse before I let that happen.

Cool, I figured Id throw that out there since these are taking up space and probably going in the trash here soon. Now I just gotta get my box design hammered out and some dollars stashed away for a new amp...

I love to see people building on these older style silverados just cause Ive had two of them and to "borrow" some ideas.

Well its spring and theres just something about spring that makes me want to have a system installed.

Fresh air, getting to ride around with the windows down. Loud Thumping Dooby Cruses out on the old country roads, a favorite past time of mine :)

Well I needed to pick back up from were I left off last fall plus I had to repair damage to the driver side floor board from winter time.

I got the floor finished today along with some other stuff.

Over the winter I have decided to make some changes to my whole speaker line up. I'm tired of running old out of date products and want to have everything 2009 and up.

This does not apply to amps but I'm still going to try and upgrade them after I move back to Ohio.

To start off the first big change are the Mids and tweets. Instead of Phoenix Gold I was able to get my hands on a set of Kicker QS65.2 components and I will be running these active to save space as the crossovers are incredibly big but I have seen bigger passive crossovers before (Cough, Boston).

I'm not really seeing any reason that I shouldn't be able to start my kick panels tomorrow.

I'm pretty excited to hear these and they will be powered off of 2 Sundown 125.2's. One for the mids and one for the tweets.
