Hickey21 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 right lads have an alpine cda9885r and there is no power coming out of the remote to turn on the amps or eqs. when i bang the dash the amps will come on for awhile until i hit a bump or maybe it'l just come on for a second so is my radio wanked or is it fixable
sactownstang Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 recheck all the wires especially remote! u need to verify it has 12v still messin up pull it out and bench test.
usmc7980 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 its shorted somewhere, whether the wire it is in the deck or the wire may be frayed behind the dash. Just pull out the deck and visually check the wire and connection then meter it at the splice and plug, that will tell if you have a wire or deck problem. Either way you can just terminate the remote lead from the deck and run off a switched power source in the fusebox, and problem solved. If your turning on multiple amps or accessories you want to use a relay to keep from overloading the remote and shorting it
bassprodigy Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 the best thing to do is to get a multimeter and do a continuity test to see if there is a break anywhere........ and also check the voltage at the headunit and the amp...... if there is a voltage issue from tha headunit, try using the ignition wire on the headunit........ 2003 Toyota Sequoia Pioneer 4100dvd Memphis PR6.5 3ways in all four doors Memphis PR 15s (4) Memphis PR 1.1000 (2) Memphis PR 4.50 (1) Optima Yellowtop (2) Viper 5901 8000k H.I.D. kit 15% tint (2layers)
