Remote Bass Control On Amps?

Sorry if this has been asked before. I was wondering if amps will put out more power using them or if they just adjust the gain levels.

some adjust gain/level (which affects all frequencies)

some use variable/centered frequency bass boost which is not the same as the above since it doesnt affect all frequencies....

neither make the amp put out more power... and both are best used to turn the bass down when u want... not to add bass to songs

turn the knob that u have up as much as you are ever going to turn it up... then set gains with dmm so that way youll never exceed the ac volts on dmm
