Forevrbumpn
I still say as long as you understand how a cap works, and inductor works, just try yourself because pre made cross overs are universal I first learned on my first professional cross over I had some 6.5"s and some low Fs (950hz)silk dome tweeters, I needed to design a dipole set up The 6.5" speakers played from 70-3500 I believe it was pretty flat, but there was mechanical noise- barely audible, but the computer picked it up at around 2200 hz, I designed the cross over for 3000 hz 6db hp/lp an irritable sound kept bugging me in testing did some RTA's, and sure enough, there was a spike at like 2200 hz I had to redesign the x-over to a lower x over setting, so I re did the cross over at 2000hz @12db buzzing gone, tweeter sounded better If you can find graphs of the speakers you are using, try and read the slopes, and try and set up the cross over where there is a big spike in the higher audible zones- 900-5000hz spikes in the frequency response in that area will irratate your hearing alot more than imaginable There is also simple calculators online that will be very helpful And learning Notch filter networks is helpful too (something else I could have used with that annoying sound) You would pay less than buying crossovers pre made, they will be built to your speakers you wont end up wasting money and you will learn a fun hobby in the process if you have any questions about it, or calculators to use, just PM me, or hit me up on AIM Edited October 29, 2008 by Forevrbumpn Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
