littleitaly1990
i thought the key to loudness was cone area true, but power plays an equal play. And theoretically porting a sub should add 3dbs. And if well designed, FAR more. Quote A vitrolic, megalomaniacal sadistic psychopath.
Noobtastic14
yeah, if it was 2 vs 3 ported that would be different. I've ALWAYS liked the sound of ported over sealed. Boon
We gained 12dB by porting an 8" sub. I don't think we would have gained that by adding another 8 Quote 10.x volts fo' life!

amazinblazin10
Yeah go with ported, i had two twelves that were in a bandpass box, and even though they weren't in a sealed enclosure when i built a ported enclosure for them it sounded so much better, fo sho go with the 2 15's in a ported. chevy454
does it matter which way a sub is faced when sealed?
Boon
Heh all these people saying "ported ported" and you're asking questions about sealed, lol. How do you mean which way you face the sub? Like inverted mounting so the motor sticks out of the box? That doesn't matter. If you mean which way you point the sub/box, yes it matters, it's exactly the same principle as a ported box Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
