Toxiccasper
Birch is stronger and lighter but more exspensive, mdf is heavier but cheaper
RamenNoodles
Cool thing about birch is that it still has the grain. So if you double baffle something, you can run the grains the opposite ways when layering it to improve its strength and it looks sexy if you stain in. MDF dust also is a pain in the ass, but so is birch. Id go with birch if money werent that important. IH8PunkRok
is there a difference in sound/specs when building a box with mdf from birch? any differences between the two acoustically cant really be heard. the only real difference is weight and price Edited October 10, 2008 by IH8PunkRok Quote -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
IH8PunkRok
oh and i may sound like a complete ass for sayin this but its the truth. when ur looking thru the build threads dont look at a guy named dwright. his build threads are normally long and full of bashing and no real work. so u wont learn much from that. The best thing besides all the knowledge is unlike alot of other places I feel o.k. asking a question. I know I won't get hassled to much for being a noob like alot of other sites will. some of the things I'm glad I found on this site are mla modules, Sundown. And of course the holy of holy's Fi flbtl's Edit: Oh and forevrbumpns quarterwave/t-line tutorial. that really got me thinking about stuff I can do.
