Guest Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 im putting together my first build with a 12" Punch 2 (previous generation), rated at 200rms, S4 coil. i have a 1994 corolla sedan. im wondering, what would be the best box possible to build for it? seats do not go down and a blowthrough is out of the question.
LSN2meBoom916 Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 Cut out AS MUCH of the rear deck as you can. With the seats not going down and no center blow through, you need a way for the pressure to get into the cabin. Open that deck up. Either: face the box forward (sealed or ported-with port+woofer both forward) and SEAL it off...air tight around the box face so no pressure is lost to the trunk...only forced forward. OR... Dynmatt the HELL outta the trunk, and point it back/towards the tail lights and run it ported or sealed w/ e you like the sound of better. And build it at least 3-4 times. You can "get lucky" but better to test and find what the vehicle "likes". Guest Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 there are 2 holes in the rear deck, that can fit 6x9's, i can cut those out. im an SPL guy and i dont much give 2 shits about SQ. what about a box type, i know theres the standard ported and sealed, but theres also the front/back-loading horns, t-lines, 4/6/8th order BP's...
Toxiccasper Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 you only have room for ported or bandpass the tline and horn will be WAY too big
Guest Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 ahh ok, i can get dimensions tomorrow morning if it helps
Toxiccasper Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 A nice ported box should suit you well
