Hi i have a 1987 toyota 4runner with a clarion DXZ585USB CD Receiver, a Rockford fosgate T10001bd

1000 Watt Class-bd Mono Amplifier, and two 12" Sony xplod subs. I'm going to get rid of the subs i have now and get 4 15" AQ subs with 3 more of the rockford amps and i was wondering if anyone could help me build a box design for my truck or give me any pointers on any of my equipment??

the main thing i could help with is save up now to get ready to upgrade your electrical. you should think about:

HO Alt

lots of 1/0

upgraded stock bat

two bats in back

possible MLA

but thats all i really know, and all that right there will cost a few bucks, haha

what kind of car, and you need to think about electrical first if you plan on going that big that fast. x2 on soberbills's comment, more than a few bucks, more like a few (alot) hundred bucks.

i have an '87 toyota 4runner and i dont understand wht you mean by electrical. and wht's MLA????

MLA(missing link audio)

what an MLA mod does is that in short it goes between your alt plugin from the cars computer and the alt itself and it ups the voltage. like mine is a 15.3 charging voltage. so having a higher charging voltage will charge your bat/batts faster, and will give you more power from your amp(takes power to make power). this is where your added batts will come in. with this much power you will need atleast (imo) 2 powermaster d3100 or 2 kinetik HC2400. and upgrade your battery under the hood with the biggest size you can. hell a yellow top could work there(thats what i'm looking at adding). with a H(High Output) alt and an MLA working together, you shouldn't have a problem with keeping your batts charged so you don't have to worry about voltage drop as much.

ok, and the electrical is anything that is used to get power to the amps. this includes batteries, powrecable, altenaters, the possible mla, i can't spell, and so on.

i hope i didn't confuse you cause i think i confused my self a lil hear and i hope i helped you a lil bit. and i hope i'm somwhere near correct on any of this. haha

alright man thanx alot for your help and you didn't confuse me one bit. I'm not sure about the MLA because i dont have a computer setup to my truck. I currently have a Red top Optima and it's never dropped severly. And i'll look to upgrade my electrical like i'll put a couple caps on it and i'll definatly get a h/o alt. If you have any more advice let me know i need all the help i can get

IMO if you are gonna pay the price to get a couple of caps, its cheaper and better for your electrical to get a battery. Just my .02

its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies.

Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive

well i'm gunna atleast put a couple more batterys in the back of my truck and put 2 caps on it just for safety cause i dont wanna be stranded anywhere when i have no battery power

Please don't waste your money on caps. They are unnecessary for what your trying to accomplish. They really only filter out the AC voltage in your power wire so unless you are looking for more of a sound quality set up I'd say just put in some batts. I've heard that caps will help an amp sound better since it actaully filters out the ac voltage but as far as giving it more power it's actually just adding more resistance to the system. It would be better for you to add a better battery up front in your ride along with a solid secondary battery near the amp in the rear. Your not running a ton of power so maybe just a single battery upgrade under the hood will do for now, but also look into doing 1/0 cable throughout the vehicle along with upgrading your factory ground, running a power wire from the alt to the battery, and grounding the stock battery to the engine block which is also know as doing the big 3.
