Chris Posted January 16, 2007 Report Share Posted January 16, 2007 I had that same problem a long time ago with some 8's i bought off a guy. thats one of the many issues with cheap speakers. in the rush to mass produce, the thing is 1 or both the metal plates that the magnet is in between isnt on straight or cut wrong causing the coil to rub ever so much. (nothing you can really do) since the baskets are usually stamped instead of bolted to the motor structure.
