cause i can get 2 new l5s for the price of a new l7 and i never seen anyone use l5s i heard them at the local car audio shop here and they ran them off the 1000.1 and the 12" l7s on a 1500.1 but the l5s still got louder at a lower volume

2x that does not sound correct at all...

i mean jls are over priced and all, but there still great subs, their not shitty subs. so the cone area of the 2 jls would def. trump the 15 L7... but not by that that much... but i feel it should be significant enough to tell by ear

As I remember, the 15" square woofers have a cone area of around 226 cu.in. and 2 12's are working with around 224-228 i think. Not much of a diff. there.

It also depends on the enclosure and vehicle to determine which would get louder. Way to many variables...

Not to mention, if you're going for loudness and your options are a 15" L7 versus 2 W7s why not just get two 15" L7s? Getting 2 Kicker 15" L7s or L5s is going to be cheaper then 2 W7s. I know that's not what you are thinking of but I was just throwing it out there.

X2 It would be better and cheaper to have the L7's over the W7's.

There is something about the way Kicker does the L7's that makes me want to choose them over most woofers lol
