Guest Just_Rob
really, any alt will fit your car. You will just have to modify it abit to fit. On that car, that is just not the case... There is a tensioner assembly that mounts to the alternator.. Every single Toyota/Lexus Car/Truck/SUV uses the exact same alternator setup on all of the 4.3l and 4.7l V-8's from '01-'09. Also, anything that goes in the factory location has to clear the power steering pump which barely clears the factory alternator.. Electrically, the regulator in that alternator also has a specific low voltage output from the L terminal to the PCM that would have to be duplicated or it will turn on the check engine light and you cant get the car smog checked.. The best route is to just replace it with a good high amp replacement of the stock alternator and forget trying to put something else in it's place because there is nothing to be gained, a high amp version of the stock alternator is better than an old school large case GM alt....
