KoolDrew Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Right now I just have crappy Duals from Best Buy in a box I built and am in need of an upgrade. I want it be loud and really want to be able to feel it, but it's going to be in my daily car so it's more to enjoy my music more than anything else, so SQ is important as well. Pretty much everything needs to be upgraded (HU, subs, amp, component, etc.), but right now I'm just looking at buying a new sub and amp. I was thinking a single 12" would be good enough for me and allow me to spend less on the subs, amp and electrical upgrades. Do you guys think it's possible to meet my criteria under $400? Some of the subs I was looking at includes the Fi Q and *** trash, but the more I look the more I realize how many products are really out there so it's hard to choose. What I'm pretty much looking for is a perfect blend of price/performance, but keep in mind the $400 value is not kept in stone. Oh, and it's going to be going in a '00 Sunfire.
RobClay Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 both of those choices would be great. id say take the trash for a try great quality sub, great sq, and can get pretty loud 2 SSA Xcon 18's Sundown 2500D Pioneer 4 Stinger SPV35 batts SecondSkin Audio Damp Pro Knukonceptz Flex[/size][/b]
Guest Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 the Q or trash would be really great choices, couldnt go wrong with either of them
AI James Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 The Q is a louder sub the trash sounds better thoguh imo. I currently have a dc lvl 4 10" for sale for 150 -plus shipping if your interested
amazinblazin10 Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 I have a Fi Q 12 in a t-line and im pretty impressed for it, not so much it's price, but I like the sub a lot. Sounds great also. 1997 Dodge Ram Van 2500 Big III addition with 1/0 awg wiring all throughout Lightning Audio Strike S4.1000.1D Jenson XA2250 2 - 12" Mtx Jackhammers JH55 3ft cubed box sealed under the rear bench seat Pioneer DEH-P6000UB head unit MB Quart FWA 160 components up front
KoolDrew Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 Any suggestions on an amp to power either one of those subs? I was looking at some of the Sundown amps, but am wondering if there is anything cheaper that would still be a good match.

KoolDrew Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 For some reason I keep on going back to that 12" *** trash and Sundown Audio SAE-1000D combo. I was planning on going cheaper than that, but I keep hearing such good things about both products. Just to put things a bit more into perspective for myself, how would that combo sound compared to 2 10" Alpine Type X's? I only ask because that's what a friend of mine has and the answer may give me a better idea of what I'm looking for.
