Randerson Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 all i got to say is that if your going to buy a diesel truck, Do not what so ever get a ford or a dodge, not saying dodge doesnt make good trucks but their suspension is shit. IMO the best truck you can get is a Duramax With the Allison tranny. the duramax is proven to be more powerful than ford. and the Allison is the best transmission you can buy period. the ford motor and tranny both suck, the dodge suspension and frame suck. the motor btw is very good. But imo i have owned a Duramax with Allison and a dodge, i will never go back to dodge ever again. The ford on the other hand i have ridden in and driven, and wont touch one with a 10 foot pole.

It comes back to me not likeing the body style of the new chevys. I'm sure I can put enough mods on the turbo 6.4 from ford to make it do work engine wise. The tranny is going to be a limited factor just because it won't be towing anything but a factor none the less because I have a lead foot. Frame strength is again sort of a big factor and a non factor at the same time because it will be notched. But overall frame strength is good for balance and stability of a bagged vehicle. I would never own a dodge period. The only other option I would look at is the older model 2500. 06-07 model type as pictured above. Facebook Youtube Murdered '07 Silverado
