Aero Ported Box Help Needed

yea as dumb as that sounds, but considering just for shits to try the aero ports, i always hear they get a small gain and no port noise, i run my Ultra in like 3.4 cubes at 34 hz around their on 3k rms, so what size and lengths do i need to tune say around 30 hz

and they just have screws around the edge of the flares i take it to attach em?

what way should i have the enclosure? would sub up port back be best for a hatchback application?

You press fit the ports. 1 6" aeroport will probably work well for your sub/box/tuning.

I'm doing 145+ on music sealed up with a similar setup.

Sub up port back / all back / all up can all get loud in a hatch. You need to play around if you're concerned with your potential meter score.

Check out PSP's port calculator. I agree with Boon that one 6" port will be good for a daily setup.

what if the length i would need is longer then the pipe

they sell 17" for a 30hz tune its saying it needs to be 20.8"

and also how close can the flare be from the rear of the enclosure?

You can use 6" sewer pipe for the center section and cut it to length but a section of sewer pipe cost more than the port does. You must get the green thin wall sewer pipe cause the schedule 40 water pipe is too thick to fit. The better option though would be to make your box a lil bigger. 4.15ft net w/ one 6" port 17" long = 30hz tuning. Since it's a 6" port you must keep it at least 6" away from the back of the box.

hmm so then does the exit flare have to be 6" from rear hatch?

bacause if i need a 17" port, and the 6" breathe room the box needs to be 23" which then only leaves like 3-4" to the hatch

Ideally yes. In some instances I've seen better TL #s with my ports rather close to the rear hatch but its best to play it safe. I don't personally think you'll notice the difference by ear either way though. Another option is to use two 4" ports instead. I ran into issues using 6" ports in my Expo because I'm severely limited in heighth with the window line rule in competition. By having my ports so close to the edges of the box it caused extreme tuning issues resulting in very poor output. I don't have this problem using 4" ports because there is a lot more clearance.

I still think you should go with the 6"

That length sounds way too long, I had my DD9515 in a little over 3 cubes with about a 12 inch long port and it played down to 29hz...
