Can A Mono Block And A Two Channel Amp Work?

My friend right now has one Kicker L7 15" 2 ohm sub running off a two channel Crunch PZI 2000 amplifier. The sub is wired down to 1 ohm. Since the holidays are coming around the corner, my friend wants to upgrade to two Kicker L7 15s and run each sub off their own amp. However, he can't find another Crunch PZI 2000 two channel amp. He can only find a mono block PZI 2000. Question is, could he wire one sub off the two channel PZI 2000 and the other sub (separately) off the mono block PZI 2000 at 1 ohm each?

And if anyone knows where he can buy another Crunch PZI 2000 two channel amp that would work too.

Thanks.

Eeek... how does he have a sub wired @ 1 ohm connected to a 2 channel amp - that would give the amp a 0.5 ohm load per channel which would most likely make a 2 channel amp blow.

Are you sure its a 2 channel and not a mono with two outputs for the same channel? That's the way my Hifonics amp was. My friend said that they sent me a 2 channel amp instead of a mono, but I figured out that there was two outputs for the same channel.

I never got a good look at the amp so I am not sure.

The PZI 2000 is a monoblock. Just get another one and you're away.

Yeah that's what I thought. My friend just ordered the second L7 and will be running each sub separately off the 2000 PZId.
