Boon Posted December 21, 2008 Report Share Posted December 21, 2008 what exactly is clipping. i know its bad watts but what causes it and why is it bad compared to normal watts. It's when the wave starts to get square at the top because the amplifier is trying to make the signal too large. It's bad because it's DC current rather than AC so it doesn't make any sound at all and the coil of the driver will start heating up really fast.
