Unlock A Verizon Phone?

My dad got this Samsung Glyde (SCH-U940) from a buddy of his and i've looked for hours online for any info on how to unlock a verizon phone but no success. I need to unlock it to use it on US Cellular which is another cdma network.

question is, how do i unlock a verizon phone? im pretty good with computers and hacking.

the glyde cannot be unlocked as far as i know right now.. i have one i love it but i hate verizon...

update: after snooping around google and various howardsforum topics regarding access to service modes etc. i managed to find the MEID number on the phone, but no ESN number. researching into this led to an article in wiki which stated, "As ESNs are running out, a new serial number format named Mobile Equipment ID (MEID) has been created."

finding an MEID to ESN calculator online, i punched in my MEID number "A1xxxxxxxxxxxx" and it spit out "270xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx".

now that i have this info, could i possible call up US Cellular or go to their store to re-activate this phone?

Not too sure about verizon, but the way I've done it is have the ppl I'm buying it from just call up the company and say they are going to Europe and they need their phone unlocked to continue service since they are still paying and they usually do it right there.

Hasn't failed me yet. No effort required. I literally did it again about a week ago. I bought my buddy's AT&T phone and he called and said what's above ^ and they unlocked it. Now I use it for T-Mobile service.

EDIT: This is the SIM card method btw.

yea, its the sim card method, the phone is CDMA.

but thats a good idea, i have to keep that in mind for later on

if you cant do it yourself many lil phone stores near you should be able to do it.
