rollin Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 has anyone ever used the solo x 18s in their compact vented enclosure. 5 cubes per with 60 inches of port. just wondering how this would sounds in a daily. any input since I have noone with the kicker 18s. The only way to get smarter is by playing a smarter opponent..
Torres Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 back in the day when i first started getting into high powered setups, i got an 18" solo x. i forget the exact size i made the box, but it was to one of the specs in the manual. i wanna say it was the 5 cube one because i was able to fit it behind my back seats in my explorer. sub up/port up. i went to m first comp and hit a 147.xx i think at around mid 40ish hz? that was a while ago...but that's just a ball park idea for ya
rollin Posted December 16, 2008 Author Report Posted December 16, 2008 what power were you running? and this set up is for a friend who came up with doing 2 18s instead of his 4 15. The 15s he has are OZ audio on a jbl gto 2400. at first he wanted to do just the jbl on 2 solos. I told him its not enough power. so now he want to add another jbl and be done. I feel that its still not enough power but I have no experience with the soloxs. Ive tried to change his mind on the subs and amps but its not looking to good. the only thing he wants is to be in the 150s. I guess 148 and change isnt good enough on some cheep equipment($1800 amps and subs) for him..LOL The only way to get smarter is by playing a smarter opponent..
