well this might be a dumb question. but i got a 2000 s-10 and want to get a nice alarm system for it. but i was wondering does the vehicle have to have power locks for the clicker thing to work? or can i just lock the doors manually and then arm the security? thanks alot

kenwood x994 head unit

1/0 big 3 all shok industry single run to the back

New mid/highs coming not sure what

Soundqubed q2200d at .5 (have)

2 soundqubed hdc3 12s (have)

New box to be built.. sealed firing forward (yet to be designed)

200 amp alt not sure exact size or manufactor xs power batts

like you said if the vehicle dont have power locks, and you put an alarm on it you would have to manually lock and unlock your locks with a key.

Yes your alarm will work fine, but it wont unlock the doors when you press disarm, or lock the doors when you arm.

does the dome light come on when you lift the outside door handle without opening the door?

If it does your alarm would trigger at that point.

If the dome light dont turn on til the door is opened the alarm wont trigger until the door is opened.

However any heavy hits on the vehicle should trigger the shock sensor and trigger the alarm.
